another desk

this desk was built the same as the larger one in another of my pictures - it's just smaller scale. No drawers or doors because I pretty much threw these desks together at work when I should have actually been working. The top part that has the monitor in it was built later, which is why it wasn't finished yet.

Comment by Kevin on October 18, 2009 at 11:15am: If I remember right, the monitor stand was made out of some scrap pieces of cherry plywood (like the desk top itself) and the top edges were "wrapped" with an oak cove moulding. The back of the stand is covered with about a 3/16" plywood that is coated in black. I describe it that way because I'm not sure exactly what it is. We had a Kwikset lock display at work that we were getting rid of. I disassembled it and actually thought the black board was plastic until I started cutting it.
