after building my first project i realized that i needed a workbench, I found some plans on-line but in stead of using a solid core door like the plans suggested I used 2x10's and they are good and heavy so they are holding up nicely. I have since added a self to the lower section to give me some storage space for some tools. and i have installed two wood working vice's as well.

Hi thomas good job on the bench ,i have seen sturdy benches made with scaffold boards 9"x2"s.
Well made.Every good workshop needs a strong and durable workbench. The workbench is an excellent help not just in woodworking but as well as in other fixing, crafting and projects that you could be working on.
I used dowels and glue to put the boards together for the top(before i had gotten my kregg jig) and i mounted it to the frame with lag bolts and 3 in wood screws(i wanted to make sure it stayed put). It is holding up pretty well so far. I have added a shelf to the bottom and a carpenters vice at each end, as well as some large hooks to hang extension cords and hand saws to each end.
Wow! Those 2x10's do look great. I'd really like to get an update from you on how this holds up, especially with the use of casters. If you have any other views of this beautiful bench -- post' em I really want to see how you mounted the top.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
