This is the third one I have made . I haven't used plywood on any of them. So this is not a problem. But thanks for heads up. I live close to a Amish kiln so I get solid wood pretty reasonable.

Chip,

If your building from the Wood magazine set of plans there's one thing to look out for.  I cut and assembled all pieces according to the plan and upon assembly the core of the plywood from the base is visible on the backside.  I think the plans should have called for the back to be 3/4" longer and the bottom 3/4" shorter.  that way the exposed edge of plywood would be facing down.  Since this one sits up against a wall I didn't feel a need to make a modification.

Hope this helps, Don

Nice. I'm building same one now. I am putting in the wine racks instead of shelves though.
