Teardrop Trailer Build

I started a Teardrop trailer build as a wedding gift from my son. I don't have a garage or workshop so I started the build outside or under a portable awning. I got plans from EBay.

Well, the first was the spars that each got 2 pocket holes and this is the galley cabinet/over foot cabin base frame..

Looking good Ron.   Billy, that web site is the only one to use!!  Been a member for almost 4 years.

Between that web site and Kreg Jig...that is the only way to go for a teardrop build.

Skinned the hatch with aluminum today in my living room (24 degrees outside today).  Bags are full of volcanic sand (Mt St Helens) to weigh down the skin for the adhesive to dry.

Hope this is okay.... there is a website for teardrops and such. There are some beautifully built units there.

The folks on that site sing the praises of their kregs....

Very nice build!  I am also in the middle of a Tear drop build.  The Kreg Jig is what allowed me to do the build as I have minimal tools.  Kreg, as you know, makes live a whole lot simpler for building just about anything.  I will post some photos at a later time.  I have used pocket holes in every place I could think of.   Rod

I, too, always have to tweak everything to my liking. That's just how we do it, though, is it not? We always have to customize the things we build!! Your son will still enjoy his wedding gift even though; there is nothing better than the time, effort and energy a father invests in a gift for his child. My son is ten and he enjoys every little thing I make for him. Problem is that when I finish one (inch) thing, he brings his (mile) list. :) Thanks for the advice.

Ryan & others considering a teardrop build.  I was warned to keep it really simply on the first build but chose to customize myself into a spot; tight deadline I thought I could make, but didn't.

I got some plans earlier this year; definitely going to build one myself. Looking forward to seeing your finished product!

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
