I didn't have any plans.  I searched "Storage Bench" in Google and looked at hundreds of images.  I found something similar that I liked.  As far as design, we wanted the bench to sit between two windows in our den.  I based the dimensions off those measurements and a standard hardback chair.  It's made of 1x 6, bead board tongue and groove boards (got them at Lowe's), and 4' x 6' board that was already glued together (also at Lowe's) which was less expensive that building it from scratch.    It was a fun project and I have received many complements from our guests.

Nice job! I have some plans to build one very similar for our foyer/entryway. did you have plans for this one or just use your own design?

This storage bench is made from select pine and beadboard planks.  I used Kreg pocket holes to assemble.  Stained with Minwax English Chestnut and simi-gloss finish.  A great addition to our den.  Will store the grandchildren's toys and provides extra seating.  A fun build.
