Small Red Oak Stool

I built this with exposed Kreg joints. It's red oak with walnut plugs. The stool is finished with General Finishes "Salem" oil based stain and two coats of Minwax clear gloss fast dry poly.

I'll have to give that "winging it" a try. I came late to woodworking and I'm muddling along.

I kind of made some notes on a board as I went along as far as height, length, and depth. For the angles on the legs and stringers I set my saw at a pleasing angle and cut all of them to match. A lot of what I build is "cut to fit" and not measured. That's just how I learned it.....

did you have a plan for this, or was it made up as you went along? I like it. Simple and strong without looking clunky. I'd love to make it too.
