$1 each for a turned leg is great value, well done.

As for the finish its all down to personal taste, I prefer a finish that shows the natural beauty of the timber. I don't mind the clear satin wipe on poly.

Hello Al,

Thanks for the words of support, The pallet appeared out of nowhere one day.

I didn't have much work on and my boys are always sending me pictures of recycled work various people had done using pallets.

So as this one was of a reasonable quality to "recycle" I set to work, after three days work it reappeared as a small table as result,it looked really good so  I decided to have it posted.

The turned legs I bought at the markets whilst looking for vegies, (well timber is a sort of a vegetable!!)

Any way I bought heaps of them for $1 ea so they were a "good Deal"

As for a finish,I was thinking of a variety of finishes, one was sanding to 800 1200 grit then using Tung Oil.

The other was vastly different and involved dyeing the top red and frame and legs black and painting the moulded section gold, finishing it with a gloss clear finish so it replicated a Chinese style table.

I haven't decided yet so I am open to suggestions if your interested, what do you think would be a suitable finish?

regards

Robert Brennan

Good job Robert, I really like how you recycled a timber pallet and made a great piece of furniture, did you turn the legs for table yourself. What sort of finish are planning on using.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
