Hi Kreg Community -
I have a need for a bunch of open shelving units and am going to build them using my Kreg Jig 4 (and Kreg cross-cut and a few Kreg clamps too). I'm wondering if the idea I've got to accomplish these passes the sniff test. I really appreciate any feedback. Written details show below. The project "photos" are screenshots of this idea that I drew up in LibreOffice Draw. Thanks for your insight, ideas, suggestions!
Details:
The plan is to cut four 1x2" notches, evenly spaced, into the front of two 1x12x72" pine boards.
Then drill pocketholes into undersides as shown in the second drawing.
The top shelf will be a 1x12x72" board - no notches.
Assembly:
Attach top, middle, and bottom shelves to 3/4" plywood with pockethole screws and glue.
Insert 1x2"s into notches and attach to bottom and middle shelves with pockethole screws.
Attach carcass to wall studs with 2-1/2" general purpose screws, countersunk.
Fill countersunk holes with putty, sand, prime, paint all.
Cut list:
1 - 3/4" x 28-3/4" x 72" plywood board
3 - 1 x 12 x 72" pine boards
4 - 1 x 2 x 28" pine boards

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
