My very first build. Ever.

My daughter and her boyfriend showed me a picture online, either Pinterest or from a store, I forget which, of a dining table they liked for they hose they were into process of buying.

I must have said that I could build something similar for them in order to save them some ££'s for, next thing I know, I was busily scouring the www for examples of great looking but simple to build tables. I soon came across a design which used the Kreg pocket hole Jig and screws and was determined that this was the perfect way for an absolute beginner as joinery - i.e. me - should proceed.

The jig was quite easy to buy here in the UK but, to date, getting supplies of the screws has been a touch difficult and did delay the project for a short while until I could get some 2.5" screws.

Anyway, I built the table and my daughter and her boyfriend are delighted with it. Despite one or two slight balls ups (that's a technical term, here in the UK) with cutting the notches in the legs and (almost) using too long screws to attach the top to the legs, I am very happy with my first ever build.

I am already looking for other ways to use my new Kreg jig! My workshop is crying out for some organisation and new shelves etc.
