Mona Lisa Picture Frame

As I stated in my last project, Coca-Cola Puzzle and my first picture frame, I had some more artwork to get framed up. So I've gotten this timeless classic "The Mona Lisa" completed today.

I used the same wood as the previous frame but did a dark stain with a gold matting and left the white border showing because the bottom states the artist and painting name and information and I didn't want to hide that.

I have three more to do. But I only have enough of this wood to do one more and I currently only have two more pieces of glass so the third and fourth ones will be different but the next one will be exactly the same as this one (with a different art piece obviously).

I was quite surprised when I was at Michael's purchasing the matting and backer by the sales clerks' at the framing department the previous puzzle frame that she said that it would have cost us upwards of $300 - $350 to do the framework on that Coca Cola puzzle. Wow, what a great savings we accomplished.

I guess in some way I could say that paid for my router and this one the router table. So by the time I get all four of these done I may have essentially paid for a great deal of my workshop!

I had watched the videos on how to use the Kreg Jig to do picture frames and read the documentation. It had said that it "may be necessary to slightly lift the work piece off the jig" and I really didn't understand why. But after doing these two frames I now understand why it might be needed as it was on these frames.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did making it.
