One of my goals last month was to get my lathe set up so I can use the tools easier and work more efficient. This idea came from two articles in the last issue of Shopnotes Magazine. They had a nice looking wall shelf in there and an article on converting a standard toolbox into a useful workbench. I decided to combine the two since my toolbox was smaller. The stand is made entirely of pine and is about 16” tall This puts my tools at a good height to reach. All the tools I have are not on it and it will not hold it all due to the size of the toolbox. I may decide to add an additional step in the future but I like the idea of having my basic needs and not a lot of extras.The two drawers are made out of plywood with some pulls I cut on the bandsaw, the bottoms are pegboard so I can shake out any sawdust that may get in them.
It is made out of pine that I already had in the shop and assembled primarily with my Kreg Jig. You can see it stored in the 3rd picture.
