Headboard Bench

This headboard was from my wife's aunt that passed away. She wanted me to make a bench from it. This is what I came up with. I used oak boards from a futon bed that was being tossed out. There are no plans for this bench, I just make it up as I go along. I've made a few other benches from headboards that I'll post later. I love working with reclaimed wood. I'll post up the finished bench soon.

Great transformation. It's always nice to see projects made from reclaimed wood.  When they have sentimental value you know you created something real special.  Great idea and craftsmanship. Looking forward in see more headboard benches.

Excellent job Tony I really like the way you have re-used the headboard and made a beautiful bench seat out of it that should see many years of use. well done.

Tony, you need to be commended for making such a nice bench especially from something that has semential meaning, especially to your wife.  You did what I like to see, someone who will take something that was going to be discarded and turns it into a nice piece of work of which I know will most likely become one of your wife's treasured things.  I'm sure if you watch you will see a smile and perhaps a tear or two from your wife.  I very nice, Tony, I commend you.
