Thanks Stanley.  I made a router jig that works similar to a compass.  I'll post some pics of the jig when I have a little more time.  It's an essential jig for doing this kind of work.

I am not sure if the plugs are good outside? Also by the time you put them in - at least in the horizontal sections - it may be easier to put on a trim strip - weather treated and routed. Just an observation - again beautiful job.

Yes, John. I'm going to use pocket plugs. The pockets are on the back side of the gate.

Nice. Did you ever consider using trim to cover some of the pockets?
