Fire-Pit Table Insert

My family uses our fire pit during all seasons but in the summer. I remove the pit during the summer since we don't use it and it will start to rust. This leaves a hole as well as a 5" band around the pit for drinks and food. I have always wanted to find something to put in the center to use as a table. I could not find anything. I ended up finding 1/2" thick composite fence slats. They come 4" wide and 48 " long. I used construction adhesive and countersunk screws. I had to leave only 1.5" around the perimeter so the composite would not bow. The table is held by 3-3/4" tabs which extend out from the opening. I was even able to find a color which matched the top of the fire pit table.

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
