My present workbench top is 27" X 44". I find myself needing either a longer bench for a screendoor project, or a wider bench when i am assemblinga ride on for my son. I came up with the idea of adding a hinged leaf to the length and a hinged leaf to the width of my workbench. I can extend the length, width or both. On the smaller side a used a leftover black pipe and drilled 2 holes for the support. On the longer side I bought locking leaf hinges. With both extensions out, my workbench is 39" x 59"
This has worked out great sofar.
