I made it all out of 3/4" oak that I glued together to make all pieces 1 1/2" thick. It was a lot of work but it turned out pretty good. The beauty of the Kreg K5 is that you don't need an elaborate clamping system. Drill some holes wherever you want, add some glue after a test fit and go on to the next piece. This table was actually made up of 58 different pieces. The finish was done in the following order - golden pecan stain, amber shellac, dark walnut gel stain, amber shellac, three coats of satin varnish. My biggest victory was not having to use any wood filler. Yeah! Next project - Matching coffee table.
