DIY Farmhouse Bench

So, last weekend we helped some friends of ours build a farmhouse table. This weekend we built them a farmhouse bench to go with it! When I was designing this bench I wanted it to be super cheap and easy but still look great and fitting to the farmhouse theme. So this is what I came up with, an incredibly easy to build farmhouse bench with tapered legs. Enjoy!

...in fact, I'm thinking that the brace could be up high (and not show). The design is solid enough that it doesn't need the brace down there. Straight leg would give it lighter and finer lines. Just saying. The seat is a very good idea and makes it look very smart.

Thanks Pierre! That's a good idea. I'd love to see how it turns out!

PS: I might modify the bottom rung so that it doesn't look like a 2x4. Just to give it a bit of 'je ne sais quoi' if you know what I mean ;-)

Ohhhh yes, must make one of these. Have made a number of farm house benches of all kinds and this one is next. A bit massive but solid and steady. The mix of colors adds to it as well.
