the shelves if built right should be strong enough.  i know i can stand on them and it wont break.  if you are just doing the shelf unit, you need to make sure you put a top piece on it so it can handle the weight on the sides of the shelf.  if you need to see the plans, i have them with Google Sketch Up 7. let me know

Very nice work John. How sturdy do you think the cabinets by themselves would be.  I am new to this, butt would like to make something to sit my gaming PC on.  It weighs about 90lbs.  I was thinking I would place a Lazy Susan on it so for easier PC access.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
