What is the dimensions on this piece?  I can not tell did you keep the round edges of 2x4 or did you run through table saw to square?

I forgot to say, you should apply stain primer first before applying the stain.

Hi Mike,
I sanded it from 60 to 320. Then two coats of dark walnut stain , followed by two coats of fast dry polyurethane.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
