Howard, one coat of stain on the back is probably a good idea to keep the wood from taking on more humidity on one side than the other....

Very nice! I have a built in desk that i built very badly a very long time ago, and now that I have the Kreg jig, all kinds of ideas are flying around in my head as to how to redo it. This is a great looking example. Mind me asking how you did the top? Great job!

As soon as I get all the coats of clear coat on, I will have to carry the entire thing upstairs in the separate pieces so I will take some pictures of the back side. Be fore warned, I didn't stain the backs... hehehe

Howard, the project turned out great. I like the finish. Very impressed that you built it using only 4 tools! Would you happen to have any photos of the pocket-holes being used to join the boards? A lot of our members like to see the 'business side' of the project so they can reproduce in their head how it was constructed!

I just finish the first coat of clear coat and it is in my garage drying. I'll post more pictures later. I also did cabinets for above the desk and I already put them up. Pics will follow.
