Derek, I have on doubts that you could build that crib just as well.
The wainscoting in the back ground is just as nice, It takes all of the elements to show off a piece of work and the background is just as important as the main featured article. In all cases a well designed piece will look "blah" it the background does not complement it. The wainscoting in this case actually completes the whole picture making it what it is.
I know from experience that designing and building wainscoting is something that takes talent and craftsmanship to both fabricate and install. In my time I have seen numerous wainscoting installation and most are the the "not so good" being composed of the simple wall paneling and other materials that does not make an impression. Your project is just the opposite, as it adds much to the cribs looks as well as the room it is in.
It shows that you have knowledge and talent and are willing to show your work. This in its self is important as it speaks volumns to all, saying that you know what you are talking about and have the ability and the skills to back it up.
There are some whom are always giving advice yet never have posted a single photograph yet the facts still remain that there are that many of us who would really appreciate it if they would post even one photograph of one of their projects.
I guess what I am trying to convey is that it is great to have the knowledge but showing some of your knowledge is even better. I appreciate what you do and have done for this community and I still say "THANK YOU" for showing and sharing some of your work.
Derek, This is absolutely one fine looking piece of work with excellent craftsmanship and design in its composition. I especially like the the leg design as it catches your eye and reminds you of a sleigh. I can imagine the holidays with this crib adding to the Christmas decor and yet charming for the remainder of the year. The crib looks very dainty yet very sturdy and safe for a new born and upwards.
I believe this design would do well on the market with high sales. Thanks you for sharing a picture perfect piece of designed craftsmanship, and talent.
