I LOVE that cabinetry!!! I always wanted to build a set of cabinets...so, in the new house we are building, I will get my chance!!! You did a beautiful job...not only this, but all the projects I saw of yours.

BTW: this is a clear polyurethane finish...no stain. The crown molding, however, is new cypress and is stained. We used a combination of Minwax stains and got a perfect match to the sinker.

Thanks again Kim. Now this is what is known as sinker cypress....old logs that have been under water for a long period of time. The fresh cut cypress does not have the color that this older material has. If you look at the photo of the dining room table that I built, you can see the comparison. The outer frame and legs are new cypress, the center of the table top is sinker. This link should take you right to it:

I don't think I ever realized how beautiful cyprus was. Maybe it is where I live but I just don't see much of it. I love the look! And the glass really sets it off. Great job! An inspiration for sure.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
