Yes, I was referring to the top expanding and causing the frame to separate. Thanks for the info, and again, it's a beautiful table.

Henry, if you're referring to the frame joined to the darker center, It is glued! I learned after I built the table that this is not a good idea. The top has actually contracted. There are some gaps between the frame and center and the long sides are pulled in at their centers. It might have been worse except for the fact that I acclimated the material to my home before I assembled it.

We have, since this photo was taken, replaced the chairs and stained them very dark, almost black. I purchased a piece of Wenge'. I am planning on routing a dado and inserting a 1/2" x 1/2" piece of Wenge' to sort of tie-in with the chairs. don't know if that will do any good, though

The entire top is attached with brackets that allow for expansion and contraction.

Looks beautiful. How did you join the top to prevent it from breaking apart when the center expands?

Yes I did. My very first table. I did it before I got the Kreg Jig System.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
