Made this desk piece for a friend who has a warehouse for his muscle cars. It's a hood ornament for a 1956 Buick. The base piece is from a 1962 Corvair and the wood is a piece of Blue Oak I milled a few year ago that is now dry enough to use. I also machined in a keyhole slot on the back side in case he wants to mount it on the wall.

Jim,
I've had the Corvair mirror since 1970 when my brother and I built a street dune buggy with a 1962 Corvair. We still have the dune buggy and I the mirror has been just collecting dust in a box that still had some of the Corvair parts. You right, I'm sure there are many of those early hood ornaments still around. We are going to the next car swap meet and look for some more.
Got my KREG Shelf Pin Jig in the mail today, I'll work on the display case tomorrow and get the shelf holes drilled.

Thanks Jim,
I'm just finishing up building this same guy a display case for his 1:12th scale die-cast metal car collection. I ordered one of the KREG Pin Hole jigs, and it's supposed to arrive Saturday. I'm going to be using 1/4" glass for the shelves and it will had LED lighting that will shine down through the shelving. I may also use mirror for the back, I'll wait and see how the figuring on the veneer looks before I decide on the mirror. I'll post some pictures when it's finished.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
