I made my first one in 1981 and althought not easy it is very rewarding. These are from plans (modified by me) taken from the Popular Science yearbooks of 1986 and 1988. The stain is a wiping stain (Old Masters) with a clear finish. These have really taught me how to wait for the glue to dry and then I got my Kreg.

That is a beautifull desk I really want to try making something with a tambour door sometime

Ray, I msut say the roll top is a very nice piece of work.  It is a nice approach to the big version of which many do not have room for.  It is simply a great idea and has the same features as the big desk.

I like the design a lot and note that you have paid careful attention to detail making your craftsmanship excellent.  Nice color and finish work making this a stand out piece of work.  Looking forward to seeing more of your work.  Thank you for sharing.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
