i actually forgot the important lesson learned for me:
ALWAYS...no wait, NEVER, expect to find quality wood from blue blue/orange. find a real lumber yard with people who know wood. i lucked out and found one pretty close by :-)
no, ss bill, no plans, i made it up as i went along. but a good starting point would be the outside dimensions to fit whatever mattress you will use. my own lessons learned:
*use the slat spacing recommended by the mattress manufacturer. in my case, the memory foam folks suggested slats no more than 2" apart. think i used 1 3/4". made for more slats but the mattress is too expensive to mess up.
*toe kick; 5" deep, 3" high
*support boxes 3/4" ply
*drawer faces 3/4" solid wood
*heavy duty drawer slides
*plan for dead space at the head if using nightstands
we'll be at the lakehouse this weekend, so i can take measurements for this queen
