Mike, It looks like you got a bargin in a saw as it was made when a craftsman tool was a real tool that you could depend on and work with it without the fear of breaking it. I read the post of both John Schaben and Jens Jensen and I would say that they gave you some very good advise. i can't add much other that say you have got something worth fixing up and using. It will give you many years of good reliable cutting. I have seen more of these earlier model radial arm saws than of the newer ones in the cabinet shops that I have visited over the years. Congradulation on picking this one up.
