Kreg Workbench plans

Hi all, I just bought the K3 system and would like to build the workbench (plans available for download on the Kreg website). For some unknown reason, my computer will not allow me to download those plans.

Does anyone have a copy (pdf) of the simple workbench plans available to email to me???? Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's kind of difficult to use my new toy without a place to use it.  :-(

I saw the YouTube video on the workbench. The presenter mentioned that in the USA 4 x 2 is only 1.5 inches thick. That seems a lot undersized for planed timber.

We have to use metric over here, (At least to buy) but our sawn '4x2s' are a full 100mm x 50mm, and are about 3mm undersized when planed.

Pre-metric, that equated to 3-7/8* x 1-7/8" in 'old money'. 3.5" x 1.5" seems to be a mite skinny for a workbench. Any comments folks?

    Thanks for that Robert.

I think I shall beef up to 50mm thickness. The 30mm is less than 1.25" and I feel it's too flimsy in comparison to 1.5". Now, I am going to surf for some round-shank Kreg-drills, and stock up!

    Thanks again.

I though about it when built my first bench and was going to take a 2 x 6 and cutting it to 3.5 x 1.5. Reason being the corners are rounded off on 2 inch demension lumber.
But I wanted to see if you could get good joint with Kreg Jig. Joint was good. When I build another I will rip 2 x 6 to 1.5 X 5 and adjust demensions to plans I'll get better joint.
