I've always been in awe of NYWS, but I'm old enough to remember "Wally's workshop" and the host was the same guy who hosted "What's my Line?", and I think his name was Wally Brenner.

This old House is still good (but a little tired at times).  Holmes on Homes is good as well as  Yard Crashers.  There's a lot to choose from if you search around a little.  One of my real favorites is Cool Tools.

I like Holmes on homes,Disaster DYI, this old house.
D IY IS THE BEST SHOW EVER
diy- I like watching the bath crashers, home upgrades, and the yard crashers. Yaaaa
I like  "Ask This Old House" I always seems to learn  something every episode, And they make it look so easy.
There is a new one I have seen a couple of times neat stuff but the host is very annoying he keeps saying 'you know" and "ok" and "right" and talks a mile a minuit I can only stand him so long but anything woodworking is good.
I think you are talking about "Rough Cut" on PBS.  I agree that his persona seems inappropriate or gets a little tiring in the long run.  Yes, there are not too many woodworking shows on TV, but there are many good sites on the web to download good pdf files.  But I think this tread was all about home remodeling shows which is a little different.

This Old House

Bang for your Buck

Rough Cut

DIY

the woodwhisperer, marc spanuolo...
Tommy Mac is the man!! I don't get bothered by the boston accent (I've been around it all my life), but the guy does knows his stuff down.  He doesn't get boring like some of the other wood shows

First time I really had a need for the ACS miter guide.

I've been using my Adaptive Cutting System table for a few years now, and it's been really solid. This past week was the first time I ever needed to use the miter guide though.I was rebuilding some shelving in a tiny closet and I discovered the…Continue

What thread and size screw to use 2 Replies

I am building a small trunk for a military friend to put some belongings in. I have made legs out of ash hardwood and will make the sides out of 1/2” or 3/4” Baltic birch plywood. The legs are 1.5” thick by 2” wide. So since I’m drilling pockets in…Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Not Pleased With Pocket Hole Construction

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction.  I have considerable experience with conventional…
