Kreg Owners' Community

Just thought I would start a discussion on woodworkers real jobs. It would be fun to no if there are lots of professional people using Kreg Jig along with people  like myself a retired  construction worker.

Just started woodworking after I retired from 38 years in the Navy as an administrator - i should have taken up the hobby decades ago, or been a shipwright.
Aviation Electronics Technician in the US Navy...currently working as an In-Flight Technician on the P-3 Orion
Hey, I am Bill formally of Indiana now North Carolina. I worked as a machinist 5 years ago, l got laid off and got LUCKY to find a job as an Apprentice Trainer at a major cabinet/furniture hardware manufacturer here in Stanley N.C. This helped to peak my interest in woodworking. Saw Kreg infomercial, decided to start woodworking to make some of our own furniture and the Kreg Jig makes it alot easier.
im a union electrician
hi, im Stach from rhode island. I am a warehouse forklift operator (currently). I use to be a framer and carpenter but had to leave the trade when the economy crashed. Have to provide for my family thats number 1 lol. I currently do woodworking as a hobby. My father bought me the kreg jig for my birthday and i actually just made my wife a bureau and a coffee table with it. Ill post pictures soon. I absolutely love the kreg jig and i recomend it to all my friends who are hobbyist as well.
Nearly 30 years as a Doctor of Optometry (Optometrist), worked an average of 60-70 hours a week having my own four-location practice in the rural areas of the state for 27 of those years. Wore myself out doing over 41,000 miles a year on the travel side of the practice let alone dealing with the increasing 'hassles' of insurance company claims and running of the business. Still work 40+ hours a week with none of the 'overtime' factors--leaving me more time for...PROJECTS ;-)
I am currently out of work due to the wonderful economy just as some of you said, But keeping my chin up looking for new work. And professional Kreg Community web site watcher for now.

Thanks Michael, Yeah I know. My wife and I are expecting our first child next month so this down time has allowed me to be with her without having to take time off from work, since I am not at work. So I guess there is an up side of this all.

Greetings, I live and work in remote southern Mexico, where I have hotel/restaurant right on the Caribbean. Moisture, Salt and wind wreak havoc on my furniture/fixtures and I'm constantly in "repair-mode". Kreg system has been a livesaver for me this year, after years of dealing with clamps/biscuits/glue, etc. Also have used system in my "mini-shop" (soon to be expanded) at our "get-away" home in NE Ohio, where we have a totally restored 1874 farmhouse with HUGE Amish dairy barn on property, so..I'll get a lot of mileage of this system, with all the projects that are in the works. Gotta run..have to go make a couple of Margaritas for clients!
Hi everyone. My name is Terry from Farmington, Missouri. I'm a Vice President of a community bank working with commercial loans and getting ready to open up our first branch. I love what I do but I love woodworking even more. I won't do projects for anyone else except for my family. For me it takes to joy out of woodworking when I have to be concerned about it being someone elses project. My projects don't always end up "perfect" so when it's for me only I know of any mistakes. I just try to learn from my mistakes and do better next time.

I am the IT Director for the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Woodworking is a great break away from computers all day long. Is it bad though that I spend ALOT of time on the computer reading, watching and writing about woodworking. I should probably spend some more time in the shop. :)
