Hi all, new member here.
I am making a table and for the frame I want to use short braces connecting at 45 degrees to the frame's sides. Those braces will connect to the table's legs.
I don't want to use the jig just to the end of the 45 degrees angle because there is not enough "meat" to use doing it from the outside while there is no access from the inside.
The picture shows such a brace, with screws that may or may not be pocket.
I will need to offset the jig in order to get the best "grip".
Are there any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Zvi,
You can use pocket holes for this application. Unfortunately there is not a standard setup for it. Depending on the thicknesses of both your support piece and that of the apron your settings will change. The best option would be to set everything up for the thinner thickness of the two and use some scrap pieces to find the best length of screw to use to give you the most holding power.
I'm sorry but this is a wonderful non-reply.
I ended up drilling without the jig.
The jig gives me a 15 degrees hole.
Instead I drilled at 45 degrees to the brace (perpendicular to the 45 degrees edge).
I think that this will give me good strength of connection while allowing for a (relatively) shorter screw or hole.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction. I have considerable experience with conventional…
