I recently purchased the Kreg HD pocket hole jig. It says it can be used on 1.5" thick stock and larger. For thicknesses over 1.5" the screws exit off center so I was wondering how that will effect the strength of the joint? Is it advisable to add one or more pocket holes on the other side as well depending on the thickness of the piece you're working on?

Depending on the size of the lumber you could use a spacer or use the K4 or K5 vice.
