I've seen this term "resawing" come up quite  a bit regarding bandsaws, so naturally, i looked it up and found a very interesting video on the physics of resawing on a bandsaw.

Very interesting.

thought i'd share.

I was overwhelmed by the information provided on bandsaws when I was shopping for one last year. This video was tremendous help in determining what I needed. If you need more resaw capacity, it doesn't make sense to add riser blocks (unless of course you LIKE buying saw blades). :) It certainly looks like overkill when I'm cutting pen blanks on my 18 in., 2.5 HP saw, though.

How big are those pen blanks your cutting on an 18 in 2.5HP bandsaw?

Are they like baseball bat sizes?

Russ, Thanks for sharing this information, I'm loking for a real bandsaw as my next major purchase. I need something to replace the 9'' craftsman that I found on craigs list for 25.00.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
