Hi Guys,
I just built my first project with the Kreg it was the Kreg Jig® Storage Unit.
I followed the plans and it came out perfectly I had no drama's at all.
BUT I have bought the Kreg master system 4 and some of the components are too big to fit into the draw so I cannot use it as an all in one storgae system this plan must have been made for earlier models.
I am not going to bother redrawing the plans, but all it would take is for the draw and obviously the housing to be another 1/2 inch taller to take all the accessories.
So I am sending out a warning for the next newbie to measure the tools that they want to hold and adjust the measurements to suit and then PLEASE PUBLISH THEM.
Cheers
Tom

That's interesting news! I just bought some baltic birch and was about to cut it according to the Kreg plans. Is that what you'd recommend, only making the drawer 1/2 in higher? Do you think any other dimensions need changing? Thanks
Hi Bill,
If you make it 1/2 an inch higher it will take all the accessories that come with the kit. You will have to make one of the draw compartments a bit larger than 3 inches to take the mobile base. Its best to just put your tools in it when finished and then place the dividers where they suit you best. It is not large enough to take the parts and boxes of screws as well, if you want to do that then you will have to make the entire project 3 inches wider.
The only other change is that I glues 2 1 inch blocks on the top so that I have a much greater resting area when drilling larger sheets see that attached photo
Cheers

Thanks Tom. Your storage unit looks great. I'll take your advice and add the extra 1/2" so I can get everything in. Much appreciated.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
