Kreg Owners' Community

Ok, so this is sort of a little fun competition... after seeing a humorous comment on our Facebook Fan Page, I wanted to see who could come up with the best completion of this sentence:  "The Kreg Jig is..."

Post your creative ideas below, and maybe we'll have a vote for the winner, along with a small prize!  Good luck!

The Kreg Jig is.... Intriguing!

My father had made "make shift" tables and benches all of his life. He was never satisfied with the sturdiness of the joint, however, the more weight you set on his bench the more stable it became. He would have really liked this tool.
I’m making a new house-number sign today and thinking about the role the Kreg Jig plays every step of the way (did you know that unfilled pocket holes can double as hanging points?). My thoughts so far:

The Kreg Jig is…
…making quality woodwork fun and easy.
...creating a new generation of master carpenters.
…giving me confidence.
…making me unafraid of oak.
…putting furniture manufactures out of business.
…rapidly adding to my “honey-do” list.
…making my spouse glad I spend money on tools.
The Kreg Jig is... responsible for rekindling my interest in woodworking!
My latest new tool I can't wait to use
my biscut jointers and dowelling jigs worst enemy and my best joint maker and time and money saver. And if I sell my biscut jointer and my dowell jigs(yes I have more than one)I can buy more clamps and you can never have too many clamps!!!
And my Kreg jig is a great reason NOT to buy a mortise and tenion jig....I'll just buy more clamps!!
The Kreg Jig is... to woodworking as the wheel is to transportation or the lever to lifting.
...quick, easy to use and virtually mistake-proof!
was the first tool I purchased for my brand new shop
...something that should not gather dust!

I bought my jig (Master 2000?) a few years back for a minor project. put it on the shelf and forgot about it in my shop. I "discovered" the tool set and built up 4 - 6 foot bookshelves (birch plywood and pine for paint grade) over a weekend. The faces went together quickly and neatly, the only staples in the project were for the backs. I got to mark something off the honeydo list and the shelves are furniture quality. Not a bunch of particle board that will warp in a few years.

I worked in a cabinet shop when I was in high school. We used a pocket hole system to build faces, there was a floor machine to drill the holes and a huge layout easel with pneumatic clamps to hold the work in place. Now the Kreg system is obviously not as fast as a commercial production system. However, the quality of work the Kreg jig and clamps produce is the same high quality joints we made in the custom shop. Using the Kreg approach to attach the faces actually produced face without any tale tell finishing nail holes.

New project is a simple glass door recessed media rack for the home theater. Then after I get the right setup for doors an entertainment center for the living room. These will be stained.
