Hello all. Just thought I would put out here my experience with Steel City Table saw.

Purchased one just before Christmas. Finally put it together after Christmas. Seemed nice enough. The problem is I spent $1200.00 had the extended table with the granite tops. The granite tops I got level but the miter slide would not fit through the slots. One side was good but the back of the saw pinched the guide. The dowel pin holes in the tops were not in the proper location. They replaced the saw after I called the place of purchase. Got another same problem. So they said it was a problem with that model only. Bought the next model up. Another $200.00. Well ended up got it together and yes you guessed it same problem. They took the dowel pins out of the saw to align the miter grooves. Then it was sloppy on one side. Without the pins not sure it would stay lined up. Ended up got rid of the saw and my money back.

I feel like removing the dowel pins was their way of dealing with quality issues in the granite tops not having the dowel pin holes located properly. I feel like this was not a company thinking of its customers first. Not saying that some were not great but my experience was not good with Steel City Tools. I will save and get something else. I would recommend if you are looking at them, to go over them good and be sure you are happy with it.
Does anybody have any recommendations on a saw about the same price?

thanks for the review, I don't have any recomendations as I am also looking to replace my old small Craftsman Table saw I've had for about 10yrs now.

Howdy William,

I'm afraid I don't have any recommendations for that table saw style (I have a contractor's style saw), but I just wanted to say I appreciate you sharing your experience with us. I've never owned any Steel City tools, but after reading about your experience I'd have to agree with you that they aren't really concerned about customer satisfaction. I'll definitely avoid them from here on out. Good luck with your replacement search.
