Just built this today. I based it off the plans from Ana White located here: http://ana-white.com/2012/03/plans/kentwood-bookshelf. I scaled it up to about 72"x36". I used a brad nailer and wood glue for the top and back planking, everything else was pocket-hole joinery. I still need to sand and stain it.

Nick,
A unit that tall will need to be anchored securely to studs in wall, or the like.
REASON: It's top heavy, and when loaded with merchandise, it'll topple over,
and cause injury to persons or property.
Looks really good, Nick!
Hope you have plenty of rustic books to go in it.
Looking sturdy and neat, so far.
Ditto! Sturdy and neat!
Looks good Nick, Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Looks awesome, like something you would see in a rustic store display. Very cool.

What other rustic looking furniture projects do you have planned for the future?
I have already built a dvd rack which is basically a miniature version of the bookcase and I am currently working on a patio cooler (thanks to Dan for the inspiration) as a gift for my in-laws.
Nice...

Leaving the holes open, on finished surfaces, allows dirt and dust to accumulate.
Plugging the holes, allows for easier cleaning.

Very nice work and I like the fact you didn't fill the Kreg pocket holes, rustic looking.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
