My Kreg jig has been sitting and getting dusty... which is something I never thought would happen. But to my delight I got to use it somewhere I never thought possible...
Several storms through the winter damaged our roof. My husband decided we were going to put on a new metal roof. So, my Kreg jig has sat lonely while most of my "projecting hours" have been spent on the roof with the love of my life. I actually thought there would not be any oppurtunity to use pocket hole joinery considering we were working with metal, bubble wrap, and furring strips.
Weelllllll, of course the Kreg jig proved me wrong. We decided to remove a buck stove chimney... leaving a gaping hole in need of repair (with rain in the forcast of course!!). Kreg to the rescue! I quickly cut some studs and had crossbeams cut and had pocket holes drilled in a jiffy. I installed them from on top of the roof saving time and a steamy hot trip into the attic. The only extra tool I had to tote on the roof was my driver bit. My husband had it covered and was back to roofing in no time! Impressive! I love opportunities to impress my husband with my Kreg Jig!
Sorry, no pictures... I don't typically carry a camera while roofing!

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
