Well, you can now buy straight bits for your router that are undersized to fit plywood perfectly. That's the good news, the bad news is it won't fit anything else perfectly.
I like cutting them with the router, its a cleaner cut. If you go to newwoodworker .com they have a great plan for a dado jig that you can get exact fitting dadoes. its real simple to make and works real well, you use a 1/2 straight router bit for all dadoes.

I was leaning towards router bits but was thinking cost of all those bits. This
looks like simpler solution only one bit needed. I think will make a jig similar
but use t track for slide. Probably scale back length of jig not width of jig. I probably will make mine with a maxamum 2 " inches wide dado. Thanks Joe and Kerry for your comments. I will make jig it will proably have pocket holes
in it. I will post a picture when done.
In the long run probably need both but for dado's for book shelf the router and jig like the auto dado will work well. For long rabits or long dado's the dao blae is better. I am gathering the materials to build the auto now. I will post when complete.
Check out the October issue of WOOD magazine, there is a dado vs router article that explains a lot!
