<p>Most of my projects are in AutoCAD 16. That allows me to convert them to 3D if I want. You may also want to try Sketchup. They have a free program and Sketchup viewers available for download. Sketchup Pro you would have to pay for. But alot of the projects in some of the wood magazines are done in Sketchup. </p>

<p>I used to use Design CAD but found it easier and faster to draw by hand. The only drawback is that my hand drawings won't show interfering parts, cuts, etc. As Don mentioned, when asked for plans, it makes it more difficult to share.</p>
