Have built the base of the entertainment center (ready to sand, pre-install/de-install the hinges, and finish).

Interesting working with this plywood. Pretty much, it's just wood. The oddities I found...

The core is so tough that I think of it as 3/4 inch hardwood --- not plywood. So I used fine thread screws instead of coarse. And, it's tough to saw (fortunately I have a really great saw on loan).

There are a few times that inconsistencies in the plywood core were a problem. For Kreg joints, this raised one problem... One time the weak core (gap between slats?) ran along the line of my shelf install. This meant that 2 out of the three screws for that shelf spun out. And I had to be extremely careful to back off the clutch on the 3rd so it didn't spin out either. Because of the way this plyboo is constructed, an manufacturing error can span almost the entire 4 foot length.

I'll post an in-process photo of the "entertainment center" base I'm building tomorrow. And this post may make more sense if you look at the photo's of this type of plywood in my albums...

(It's not really an entertainment center. We've attached a flat panel to the wall and are constructing this base to go below it and will add two "towers" on either side for disc storage and to hide the fact the swivel mounting keeps the flat panel about 6" off the wall. Guess it's one approach to an "HD" version of an entertainment center.)
