Kreg Owners' Community

I am fairly new to wood working. I have already made a free standing headboard for my king size bed. I made it about two feet wider than the bed on both sides. I was planning on attaching the headboard to a set of night stands that I will be making. However, I plan on having a couple drawers and have never done any kind of work with cabinets/drawers. Could I get any tips/advice on making the night stands.

That's a handsome looking headboard.

I just read the rest of your post.  I would use the micro jig to make the drawers out of 1/2 inch Baltic birch. You can use 3/4 -inch plywood for the drawers using the standard kreg setup but they can get heavy. I also put a couple of dowels in between the kreg screws for added strength.  The kreg screws hold everthing in place while you drill the holes for the dowels. 3/16 inch dowels would work well with the 1/2inch drawers, 1/4 dowels would work with 3/4 inch drawers.

Thank you Matthew Jones.
