I have one older and two newer routers. Only one my Bosch 1617 will originally fit into the lift. I don't like to use this one because it is to short and the bit change can not be done over the table top. Is there and updated Router list for newer Router makes?
Thank you in advance

What are the other two?? Seems like I recall that Bosch has a fixed base available for the 1617 that does allow above table bit changes. Check out the RA1165 base, 1617 undertable base
Michael check out the Triton routers , do not need a router lift as the Triton has the ability with the aid of a supplied winder arm to adjust the height from above the table . Also the ability to change bits from above the table .Great routers even Jay uses them .

I can not use my Bosch 1617 because it will not change bits above the table because it is to short. All other routers suggest are obsolete. I have a Craftsman 27683, what is different between the one I have and the 3 mentioned Craftsman routers? It
seems that this lift has been around for a while, I was hoping that someone has used a router not on the list and had good luck with it.

Hi Michael - Not sure what is going on there. If you have the proper pads for the Bosch, I would think it would work. I haven't got that lift, or any other for that matter, but my understanding is that the base is not used in that lift but the motor is clamped into the lift. The pads needed are dependent on the diameter of the motor. That being the case, the 27683 also has a 3½" diameter motor so should work with the pads for the Bosch. Not real sure, just speculating at this point. Is there any way to manipulate the height at where the motor is clamped down??
