Rockler has a Murphy bed plan for $9.99,
Hi
There are some nice plans at www.plansnow.com based on the create-a-Bed hardware. The hardware comes with their own plans as well, but are much more basic. I am also planning to build one and have the hardware, but other projects are more pressing at the moment.
Good luck

I looked at some of your pics Michael. Nice work. I have a question about the legs. You have nice sculpted legs... Is that a bit forward? I mean the design you have for the bed legs is very nice. My question is how you deal with the latch mechanism. In the original create a bed plans it uses these short funny legs that double as the latch system. I did not see a latch on your bed.
Just curious how you got around that.

Hi:
On this site in my projects, you can see what the Murphy Bed from Create a Bed is like. This project is not finished, it was stained and coated to provide for the In-Laws last winter and I will be finishing it wall to wall as soon as I get done with the Kitchen project to do list.
not quite sure what you mean about the latch mechanism except the foot mech. for when the bed is down..i eliminated the mechanical locking flip hinged foot with a dual purpose static shelf thats supported by corbels...like the look, function and the lack of the need to deal with a mechanism that may one day fail and cause damage to the bed or someone..

I guess what I meant was how does the bed stay in the up position? That is where those leg mechanisms were suppose to come in. Does your bed have a simpler clasp that keeps it closed? The Woodsmith magazine plans also changed the legs to a flip up type that doubles as a nice curved final when the bed is in the up position.
Thanks

I've been using my Adaptive Cutting System table for a few years now, and it's been really solid. This past week was the first time I ever needed to use the miter guide though.I was rebuilding some shelving in a tiny closet and I discovered the…Continue

I am building a small trunk for a military friend to put some belongings in. I have made legs out of ash hardwood and will make the sides out of 1/2” or 3/4” Baltic birch plywood. The legs are 1.5” thick by 2” wide. So since I’m drilling pockets in…Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction. I have considerable experience with conventional…
