Mounting your jig

Hello, I just purchased my Kreg Jig. Can some of you experienced users tell me how you mounted your jig? Did you mount it to a bench? Or a piece of plywood or something and then clamp that to a bench? Or is there a better way for storage, mounting and using the jig?

Yes, they are the "support wings" which were part of the K2000 Propack several years ago. I believe they are now discontinued and I am not sure the height would work with the newer Kreg jigs. On of their best features is that they have a built in "gauge" for setting the stop collar on the drill bit.

Are the blue blocks a Kreg option/accessory? I assume they are the same height has the Jig..

Rex, I opted to mount my Kreg jig and give it its own dedicated space. I knew that if I had to fool with setting it up over and over I would never use it. But one bit of advice I found before I did this has made such a difference. I read somewhere to set up the jig at just under waist height. This saves the back and shoulders when using it repeatedly. (which I do!). Drilling downward over and over has not been a problem. Before I built this table from scrap lumber I made a very short pair of sawhorses. LOL
Here is a picture. Yes, it is very low... I am only 5'2"
I also had an old drill that I use just for this. Now I never have to remember to charge the battery and it is there ready to go!

I got tired of taking it out of the gray box and putting it back all the time. Plus, in my shop, I don't have a lot of room to clamp it down quickly. I ended up using scrap 3/4" board and screwed the Kreg Jig to it. I then drilled a somewhat large hole in the board and now just hang it up when I'm finished. Clamping the board it's screwed to is much quicker than just the one clamp to the half circle indent in the front of the jig.

I keep mine in a portable stage so I just grab my work board and go

1st picture is on portable board.
3rd is Where the riser board allows to use as a clam down
4th Is where I make dowel rod plugs Just have screw in bootm of hole put dowell rod in and trim off with a pull saw and then knock out the screw and plug comes out

I mounted my jig to a piece of pine board and then drilled two holes at the top of the board and into my work station (which by the way measures 4'x4'). Now I just lay my jig on my work station and drop in 2 carriage bolts to hold it in place and I am good to go.

I mounted my jig on a 18" stair runner with two supports on each end of stair runner. It's heavy so it's stable and when working on long material I have two added supports to match height.

I just used drywall screws 1-1/4"and screwed it down to a piece of scrap plywood I use as a working surface and began to get to work.

Just discovered Kreg Jig before Chrismas and after a couple of temporary homes, I've settled on this - the Jig board stands on edge for a small storage footprint, and the table top comes off, the suports fold and it slides away too.
