Kreg Owners' Community

I  tried to add this yesterday, but I can't find it in any of the forums.  This is my 1st post.

I have constructed a headboard and trundle bed.  I made the trundle with 2x4's and the heavy duty jig is awesome.

So my question is: Can the jig be used for miter joints?  My niece has asked me to build some small boxes and she wanted the invisible miter joints.  Everything that I have seen and done is butt joints.

It is possible to use pocket joints in miter joints. Our instructions with the standard Kreg Jigs show the techniques. We don't really get requests for it with the HD, so we haven't gone into it there. The same rules would apply, though. I'd advise trying a couple of test joints to determine spacing, etc.

If you don't have a standard Kreg Jig and want to look a the instructions in the manual, or if you just want a great place to have manuals handy, go to the Info Center on Kregtool.com and click on the "Product Manuals" button.

Unless Kreg has started selling different length HD screws, it may be a bit problematic. Last I checked the only length available in the HD size is 2½".

Thanks for the response.  I did study the miter process for the picture frame type project with the intro video.  The miter I'm asking about is quite different.  I was building boxes out of 3/4" stock, and I'm trying to build it using miter joints rather than butt joints.  As I study it, doesn't look like it's possible.
