Kreg Owners' Community

I just began two months ago. My wife bought me a compound miter saw and said, "You've been talking about getting into woodworking since I've know you. Here, go make some sawdust." I know have a fairly well equipped little shop and I'm learning by videos and communities like this one and LumberJocks.com.

I have liver cancer and I started woodworking as a therapy, mentally, physically and spiritually. IT WORKS! I thank God for this blessing. I am blogging about my experience at Woodworking For Therapy . I hope to encourage others to try woodworking as a form of therapy and encourage them to chose to Live, not just waste away.

I've never made a pocket joint so I just picked up a Kreg Jig Jr. I found a plant stand that I want to build using all pocket screw joints. The plans are free at Plant Stand

I hope to get started on this soon.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for opening up to the Kreg Owners' Community and sharing your story. We are so glad to hear that you are able to use woodworking as your therapy. How great it must be, to be able to heal and have fun at the same time. Please keep us updated with your situation and your projects.

Have a great weekend.

Steve I know what you mean about therapy. I've got a stressful job and although I can't compare to your story, I can certainly attest to the fact that I am in complete euphoria when I'm in my little shop (my basement) and forget about the stresses in life. Your first project looks great. Keep up the great work,
