Not exactly, I now live in Greensburg, LA which is near Kentwood, LA. Originally From New Orleans area (West Bank Jefferson Parish). Moved here 3 years ago after retirement.<br/>

That is correct, you would set the drill bit for 1 1/2". The only thing that would change is say if you were attaching a 2x to a 1x, you would use a shorter screw, but still use the 1 1/2" setup for the drill bit.
