<p>I'd be advantageous for one to peruse it two or three times, and then make some practice joints, using various work-pieces thicknesses and combinations of same; i.e., thicker to thinner and thin to thicker pieces.</p>
<p>Make practice pieces using plywood---it reacts a little different than solid wood, especially when the screw enters into the laminations, where splitting/separation can occur. </p>
