I am building a base for a new kreg router top and fence. How do they recommend raising and lowering the router for vertical adjustment.

TRITON Routers have the lift built-in , I purchased one about a year ago to install in my router table and I loveit.

Hi Phillip; There are sveral routers that will allow about table lift and bit change. As fred mentioned there is the Triton, Freud, and I believe that  Porter Cable, Bosch, and probably Dewalt all have routers with the same features. The other method is to use a router lift device, and there are several of them available. Kreg now has a router lift, Jessem has a couple, and there are probably others. I have a Freud router in my table, but I plan to fir it into a Kreg router lift. I have a Jesem, but it will not accept either of my routers. I would like to sell the Jessem, if any one is interested. It is brand new, still in the box.

Hi Philip!

From what I have seen and read, some router tables have mechanized lifts and some you either adjust from the bottom of the table or lift up the base plate with router, sit on table and then make adjustments (like they do at The Router Workshop).

The mechanized version has you raise and lower the router by just turning a rod that sits in the leveler adjustment hole.

Philip, I have a Milwaukee router and it can be raised from the top of the table using a "T" wrench that comes with it.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtm9GR3RbG4
